Established in 1965, Telecare is one of the largest providers of support services for adults with mental illnesses in the United States. The firm is an employee- and family-owned organization that staffs more than 2,000 employees, including psychiatrists, social workers, licensed nurses and therapists, who offer advocacy and counseling services. Its programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation on Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The firm operates over 50 programs in California, Oregon, Texas, North Carolina and Nebraska. It provides inpatient acute care, case management and residential treatment services. The firm offers vocational, housing and educational wraparound support services. Additionally, Telecare provides treatment for substance abuse problems.
