Tara Seery, M.D., attended University College Dublin School of Medicine followed by an internship at Mater Misericordiae Hospital as well as an internship and residency at Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston. She then completed fellowships in hematology/oncology at both Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center and University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Seery is board certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology.Dr. Seery is particularly interested in GI oncology, including hepatobiliary cancers such as pancreatic, liver and bile duct cancers.She has served as the primary investigator on several clinical research trials, co-authored numerous medical publications and abstracts, and edited multiple peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, she has given clinical presentations both across the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Seery’s teaching experience spans the areas of medical and graduate level courses including a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Annual Lecture Series on Pancreatic Cancer, Liver Cancer and the Management of Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma at UC Irvine’s 5th Annual Gastroenterology and Hepatology Symposium. In addition, she oversaw a group of Hematology/Oncology Fellows at the University of California Irvine Outpatient Clinic.Dr. Seery is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

His practice focuses on genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer. Dr. Benjamin provides a caring environment for his patients, where he works alongside patients on their cancer journey to determine the best treatment plans for their individual diagnoses. Through his involvement in cancer research, Dr. Benjamin is actively working to identify therapies that improve the lives of patients with genitourinary cancers through clinical trials at Hoag. Dr. Benjamin has co-authored numerous publications in leading medical journals, including JAMA Oncology, The Lancet Oncology and Nature Reviews Urology. He has presented his research at several national and international conferences. He received the 2022 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium Merit Award from Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, and received the 2022 UCI School of Medicine Outstanding Fellow/Resident Research Award for excellence in clinical/translational research. Dr. Benjamin is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). Dr. Benjamin attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, followed by an internal medicine internship and residency at University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He completed his fellowship training in hematology/ oncology at University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he also served as chief fellow. In his spare time, Dr. Benjamin enjoys running, watching sports (basketball and football) and traveling.

Dr. Javier Longoria is a triple board-certified interventional pulmonologist at Hoag Family Cancer Institute. He works alongside a team of experts who specialize in oncology and thoracic surgery to provide highly skilled interventional pulmonary care management to cancer patients. Dr. Longoria’s expertise in robotic and minimally-invasive approaches to lung biopsy, malignant and benign central airway disorders and pleural disease further expands Hoag Family Cancer Institute’s comprehensive cancer treatment options for patients. Dr. Longoria attended medical school at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship training in both interventional pulmonology and pulmonary and critical care medicine at University of California, Irvine. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Prior to joining Hoag, Dr. Longoria was the director of interventional pulmonology and was an Associate Professor of Medicine within the University of California, Irvine’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is a published researcher and presenter and a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. Originally from South Texas, Dr. Longoria now calls San Clemente home. In his free time, he enjoys watching college football and professional soccer and spending time with his two young daughters.
