Taft College

A part of West Kern Community College District, Taft College has been operational for more than 100 years. One of the leading colleges in Southern California, it enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. The college offers a wide variety of activities and programs, such as a leadership center, campus recreation, career services, career counseling, testing and disability services, international student solutions, student newspaper, residential programs, service learning center and student organizations. Located in Taft, Calif., it offers several courses, including accounting, applied management, biochemistry, computer engineering, corporate financial management, criminal justice, criminology, earth science and economics. Taft College also offers majors in electrical engineering, English and creative writing, media communications, entrepreneurial studies, exercise and sports science, risk management, world history, and foreign languages and literature. Additionally, the college provides certificate programs in marketing, vocational and instrumental music, philosophy, psychology, sociology, software engineering, computer applications, speech communication, teacher education, theology and military science.
