Tacos Mexico, founded in 1975 by Antonio Moreno, began as a successful catering truck operation in Los Angeles, offering authentic Mexican tacos made from family recipes and fresh ingredients. Following the success of the food truck, Mr. Moreno opened his first restaurant in 1977, which continues to operate today, while expanding the menu to include a variety of traditional dishes like tortas, sopes, quesadillas, and burritos.

By 2000, Tacos Mexico had grown to nearly 100 locations across Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona, all dedicated to preserving the legacy of quality and authenticity. Although Mr. Moreno passed away in 2009, his commitment to hand-seasoned meats and scratch-made sauces continues to thrive, attracting a diverse clientele eager to enjoy fresh Mexican cuisine.
