Summerdale Elementary School

Summerdale Elementary School is an educational institution that offers a variety of academic and extracurricular options to more than 550 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school has a staff of over 25 teachers and nearly 20 support personnel. Its academic curriculum includes visual and performing arts, English, science, music, art, physical education, reading, writing, social studies and math. Summerdale Elementary School operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising activities, meetings and conferences. The school offers the English as a Second Language program for its students. It encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities, including student council and art club. Located in San Jose, Calif., Summerdale Elementary School is a part of the Berryessa Union School District, which governs several elementary and middle schools. The Berryessa Union School District has a staff of more than 800 certificated and classified employees that serves over 8,000 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
