Summer Institute of Fun
(1)
The Summer Institute of Fun in Los Angeles, CA is a week-long acting camp for kids that focuses on dynamic movement-based physical theater. Children learn not only how to perform characters in a story but also how to become the actual set and props. With trained actors as instructors, students receive individual attention in a positive and fun learning environment. The camp offers morning classes for younger kids and afternoon classes for older kids, with each week focusing on a different folktale to further develop their abilities.
The camp guarantees limited enrollment and a teacher-student ratio of approximately 1:7, allowing for a deeper and more intensive experience. In addition to learning group improvisation and basic movement techniques, children have the opportunity to practice what they've learned through improvisational games during mat time. Each child receives a Children's Theater t-shirt upon joining the camp. The Summer Institute of Fun is held at Keck Theater in Occidental College and offers a cancellation policy with refund options based on the timing of cancellation.
