Intevac is a supplier of magnetic media sputtering equipment for the hard disk drive industry and a developer and provider of extreme low-light imaging sensors, cameras and systems. It operates two businesses: Intevac Equipment and Intevac Imaging. Intevac Equipment designs, manufactures, markets and services complex capital equipment, which deposits highly engineered thin-films on disks used in hard disk drives. Its customers include Hitachi Global Storage Technology, Komag, Maxtor and Seagate. Intevac Imaging develops and manufactures electro-optical sensors, cameras and systems used for extreme low light imaging for use in military and commercial applications. Its customers include the United States Air Force Research Laboratory, Lockheed Martin, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Army Night Vision Laboratory. Intevac is headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif.
