State of California Highway Patrol

Established in 1987, California Highway Patrol is a law enforcement and traffic safety agency reporting to the business, transportation and housing agency. Based in Los Banos, Calif., the organization provides high-level safety, service and security to the people of California. With emphasis on the roadway safety and mobility of senior citizens, the organization has introduced several programs, such as Older Adults and Traffic Safety, Office of Traffic Safety Grant Programs and Older Californian Traffic Safety, to name a few. It has several divisions, such as administrative services division, information management division, office of the academy, planning division and other field divisions. The responsibilities handled by the agency includes vehicle abatement, motorcycle safety tips, accident investigation unit, community assistance, crime incident reporting system, EI protector, freeway service patrol and many more.
