History

STAR Founder and Executive Director Marilyn Abad-Cardinalli, Professor Emeritus of Theatre and Television Arts at Gavilan College, created STAR to give her students summer jobs where they would have the opportunity to share their passion for the performing arts with young people, while gaining practical experience in the arts. STAR has since become an important summer tradition for many children and their families; from year-to-year and, in some cases, from generation-to-generation. At STAR, we often say that
