History

Originally, Camp Saint Nicholas was born out of the need to support a camping program for the many children of the families from St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral near downtown L.A. in 1948. In 1962 St. Nicholas decided that it should purchase/lease of its own camp property. Camp St. Nicholas it is approx. 85 miles north of L.A. The elevation of the campsite is approx. 6,100 ft. In 1964, Camp St. Nicholas officially opened to campers, it can house approx. 210 people at any given time. As time went on, we began to receive request from other groups. A number of these groups are religious organizations across the area. Additionally, we rent the Camp to non-religious groups such as various school districts, private schools, local universities, police department, organizations, and any other group, and on occasion we have hosted weddings and receptions. Join us with your group by renting our beloved Camp and create your own memories which will last a lifetime!!
