St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve, located in Los Gatos, California, covers 273 acres of open space land atop a 1,250-foot hill. Offering a quick escape from nearby urban areas, the preserve features steep trails winding through grassland, chaparral, and oak woodland habitats, providing panoramic views of Santa Clara Valley, Lexington Reservoir, and Sierra Azul Preserve.
Originally founded by Jesuits in 1888 as a school and winery, the historic property now welcomes hikers, dog walkers, bikers, and horseback riders on designated trails. Jointly purchased by Midpen and the town of Los Gatos in 1982, St. Joseph's Hill Preserve preserves the natural beauty and historical significance of the area for visitors to enjoy.
