Owned by the City of Elk Grove, the Special Waste Collection Center is a household hazardous waste facility. Any resident of Sacramento County can drop off their hazardous waste (e.g. paint, bug & weed killer, cleaning products, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, electronics, etc.) free of charge. Residents of Elk Grove may utilize the Recycle Area to drop off recyclables or green waste that do not fit into their curbside cans. Please note - this facility is not a CRV or buy-back center. We do not purchase recyclable material for scrap value, we can only accept recyclables from Elk Grove residents at no charge to the resident. Residents of Elk Grove may take advantage of the onsite Reuse Room to pick up FREE household products (max. 10 items per month per home).
