Southern California Indian Law & Justice Center
The Intertribal Court of Southern California (ICSC) was established in 2002 with the support of a grant from the United States Department of Justice, officially beginning operations in August 2006. Its mission is to provide member tribes with an independent and culturally sensitive forum for presenting and resolving disputes, thereby promoting empowerment through the equal administration of justice.
Functioning as a circuit court, the ICSC addresses a variety of cases, including family law, public safety issues, tort claims, and environmental matters, by traveling to different reservations to apply each tribe's laws, customs, and traditions. The court is dedicated to fostering empowerment and ensuring justice for all its member tribes.
