History
We started out at the Marin Unitarian Church in 1976, meeting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with discussion groups, speakers, and dancing. The church told us we were using their building more than they were, so we dropped the name Unitarian Singles and incorporated as Marin Singles Education, Inc. a non-profit educational corporation. Later we did parties in SF and around the Bay Area, so we changed the name to Bay Area Singles. Then we expanded to So. Calif. and changed the name once again to California Singles. Eventually we did parties in all of the major cities of the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. So we became American Singles.

Society of Single Professionals is the world's largest non-profit singles organization, producing over 50 fun events each year in the San Francisco Bay Area, including dances, mixers, speed dating, speakers, and much more... Adults of all ages welcome.
