Smoqued California Barbeque takes the traditionally southern practice of barbecue and gives it a west coast twist. The interior of the restaurant looks like any smokehouse one might find deep in Texas or up in Memphis. The whole establishment has a certain rustic and laid back charm that is easy to appreciate. In addition to serving up delicious barbecue, Smoqued is dedicated to serving the best in local craft brews. At any given time, there are a dozen local brewers being represented on the wall of taps. One of the best ways to start a meal here is with the Smoqued pork nachos with shoestring fries, mac sauce, mixed cheese, onions, tomato, jalapenos, chives and house BBQ sauce. All of the entrées are served as platters with the guest's choice of two sides. Possible proteins include beef brisket, pulled pork, pork belly, smoked chicken and smoked St. Louis ribs.
