As of now we are the mango leaders in the markets of the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Freska Produce International sources mangos from Brazil, Ecuador, Per , Guatemala and Mexico. We have availability 365 days a year with varieties such as Hadens, Tommy Atkins, Ataulfos, Kents and Keitts. Our year round availability means that there is no seasonality of our mangos and consistent supplies available to you. About Mangos The mango originated in Southeast Asia where it has been grown for over 4, 000 years. Over the years mango groves have spread to many parts of the tropical and sub-tropical world, where the climate allows the mango to grow best. Mango trees are evergreens that will grow to 60 feet tall. The mango tree will fruit 4 to 6 years after planting. Mango trees require hot, dry periods to set and produce a good crop. Most of the mangos sold in the United States are imported from Mexico, Haiti, the Caribbean and South America. Today there are over 1, 000 different varieties of mangos throughout the world. Research found that a typical buyer purchases 2 to 3 whole mangos per trip and spends about $1 per mango ( the amount spent per mango ranged from 76 cents to $1.35 ). Consumers' spending on mangos during a given two-week period ranged from a low of $2.02 to a high of $3.23. Mangos deliver a host of nutrients and make healthy eating a delightful sensory experience.
