Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) is an open admission, life-saving, municipal animal welfare agency serving the County of Ventura. With two shelters, including the main shelter in Camarillo and a smaller facility in Simi Valley, VCAS provides a safe haven for animals in need. The Camarillo Shelter, located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara Counties, houses the administrative offices and veterinary hospital, while the Simi Valley Animal Shelter is conveniently situated near Moorpark College. VCAS is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals, offering adoption services, pet medication disposal, and low-cost vaccination clinics, among other programs.
