In 2001, a group of Brisbane parents had a vision to start a non-profit co-operative preschool in Brisbane. In August 2002, the City Council granted the lease to 4 Solano Street to Silverspot. Tom Wheeler was hired as the director of the school in 2003 and assisted in opening the school for the 2003-2004 school year.
