The Shakers, based in Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, New Gloucester, Maine, represent the only active Shaker community in the world, upholding a rich heritage of values, philosophies, and traditions since 1783. Their mission includes public outreach and educational experiences, inviting seekers of all kinds to engage with their unique culture through beneficial personal, academic, and spiritual opportunities.

The newly rehabilitated Herb House Cultural Center will serve as a year-round educational and cultural space, focusing on herbalism, agriculture, culinary arts, and traditional crafts.
