Shahram Daneshmand MD

Shahram (Sean) Daneshmand, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN) who specializes in maternal and fetal medicine at Scripps Clinic. He is recognized as one of the San Diego region's top specialists for high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Daneshmand treats a wide range of conditions and complications that can occur during pregnancy, including preterm labor, hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes, abnormally invasive placentation and clotting disorders. Dr. Daneshmand is medical director of the maternal-fetal medicine program at Scripps Clinic, which coordinates care of mothers and babies with specialists who may be involved or needed as part of the labor and delivery team, including certified nurse midwives, cardiologists and diabetes experts. The program provides services to high-risk pregnant women throughout the Scripps Health system. For patients requiring specialized care during pregnancy, Dr. Daneshmand provides services and procedures that include management of multiple gestation pregnancies, fetal imaging, amniocentesis, external cephalon version and cesarean hysterectomy, as well as genetic counseling and testing. Providing his patients with excellent, compassionate and respectful care during their pregnancy is paramount to Dr. Daneshmand.
