History
I studied art in its many forms in college. After college I married and my career took a different turn; I became a yoga teacher, massage therapist and an esthetician. I built and ran 5 salon/spa/ health centers for many years. After retiring from those professions I then resumed my art studies, seeking out many accomplished artists to study with privately. I also engaged in several art school classes, focusing primarily on sculpting. Through my association with such artists as well as the opportunity to express my creativity as a child and in my first career, my intuitive imagination became quite keen and has guided me well through each work of art I create.
Specialties
Creating sculptural works of art. My artistic expression has come to me in several surprising ways. My long career as an esthetician, massage therapist and yoga teacher has given me an intimate understanding of the human body, its anatomy and its emotional form. As I begin a work in clay, which will ultimately become bronze, I am guided, not by my conscious mind but by another side of me. Sometimes I wait, standing in front of my armature, tools in hand, until the inspirational message comes to me. I rarely use a live model, rather I intuit, I look beyond the surface and I begin the incredible adventure of sculpting the human form. My works are as varied as my imagination will provide and I allow any and all designs to flow through me to my work. Sometimes I complete a work, become dissatisfied with what I see and cut it apart. And sometimes the cutting process itself becomes a new work. The adventure with each piece of art I create never ceases to amaze, amuse and entertain me.
