My friend and I started SOS because we are dissatisfied with the caliber of tutors and educational resources dedicated to STEM fields in the greater Temecula area. We found that most tutors and resources simply solve cookie-cutter homework problems and call it a day. This is fine if you want to squeak by the next test or for a letter grade, but it does not cultivate deeper understanding and mastery of the STEM concepts. Tutoring to merely make the grade in an educational system that ranks 38th place in math and 24th in science globally is not a winning strategy. In the real-world, this does not cut it and we cannot be expected to be a competitive community and country if this is how we approach STEM subject matter. Frankly, this terrifies us at SOS, and we aren't going to sit on the sideline while it happens. Consider this a pledge from me personally that I will see to it whatever it takes to make sure you are headed on the right path, armed with the right tools for success.
