The Santa Cruz Breakwater Lighthouse, also known as Walton Lighthouse, is a prominent landmark situated in the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor in California, United States. Standing at a height of 41.5 feet, this reinforced concrete tower with a balcony and lantern was constructed in 1964 and has been operated by the United States Coast Guard. It was named after Charles Walton, who generously contributed to its construction in memory of his late brother, Derek Walton, a merchant seaman.
Built in 2001 with donations, including a significant amount from Charles Walton, the Walton Lighthouse serves as a beacon of light for mariners, with a focal height of 59.5 feet and a range of 8 nautical miles. It should not be confused with the Santa Cruz Light located about 1.5 miles to the west. This iconic lighthouse is a testament to the maritime history of Santa Cruz and continues to captivate visitors with its distinctive white tower and upper narrow green band.

It's about a half mile walk there and back. This lighthouse is very picturesque and great for photos. You can't go inside but it's nice just to walk there and take in the sounds of the waves...
