Santa Clara Valley Water District

The Santa Clara Valley Water District is the primary water resources agency for Santa Clara County, Calif. It serves as a water wholesaler, as well as flood protection agency. The agency provides clean and safe water for homes and businesses. Its stream stewardship responsibilities include creek restoration and wildlife habitat projects, pollution prevention efforts and flood protection. The district s other responsibilities include the protection of watercourses, watersheds, public highways, life and property from damage and destruction. Established in 1929, the Santa Clara Valley Water District maintains water resources in the forms of streams and creeks, underground aquifers and district-built reservoirs.
