About The PracticeAlex Mendoza, DDS, is an experienced dentist at Japantown Dental in San Jose, California. He is passionate about delivering high-quality care and loves to use conservative dentistry to help patients achieve healthy, functional, and brilliant smiles.A San Jose native, Dr. Mendoza received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He then graduated from one of the top dental schools in the country, the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California.Dr. Mendoza has special interests in Invisalign, implant restoration, and restorative care and practices ethical and non-invasive dentistry. He is not only committed to maintaining and improving patient's oral health but is also concerned about their overall health. An integral part of that philosophy involves an emphasis on prevention and early detection, such as keeping decay to a minimum so patients can retain the majority of their natural tooth structure while also looking at the long term health of their mouth and teeth.He stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in his field and is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.Outside of work, Dr. Mendoza enjoys playing and watching sports such as basketball, football, and soccer. He also likes traveling, experiencing new cultures, cooking cuisines from around the world, and trying new foods. He loves to spend time with his Husky, Hiro.
