The San Diego International Birthing Project (SDIBP) is a grassroots, community-based 501c3 organization dedicated to supporting women of color through education, advocacy, and access to healthcare. Established in November 2019, SDIBP addresses the disparities in maternal and infant health, with a particular focus on the high rates of infant mortality and premature births among Black infants in San Diego.
By connecting mothers to adequate medical care, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering social support, SDIBP empowers women to advocate for themselves and improve community health outcomes. The organization is committed to educating families about maternal morbidity and infant mortality and collaborates with various partners to effect positive change in the lives of mothers and their children.
