The Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego (JAHSSD) is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and cultural heritage of the Japanese American community in San Diego. Their mission encompasses various initiatives, including exhibitions, oral histories, and educational outreach, to highlight experiences from 1885 to the present.

Current exhibitions feature key moments in the community's history, including early farming and fishing industries, wartime incarceration, and the ongoing journey of rebuilding and seeking reparations after World War II. JAHSSD also promotes local BIPOC history through events like guided bike rides that celebrate the contributions of Black Indigenous People of Color in the region.
