Established in 1977, the San Diego Food Bank provides food to people in need, advocates for the hungry and educates the public on hunger-related issues. The organization has partnerships with more than 250 nonprofit charities. It acts as a central repository and distribution point for government and donated food. The San Diego Food Bank is funded by various foundations, grants, corporations, sponsors and individual donors.
