History
The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) opened in 1997 with a goal of creating a unique after-school mathematics program. Our mission was to build a systematic math education based on the traditions of Russia and Europe and adapted to the needs of American students. Today, we are one of the oldest and most successful after-school programs in the United States. Our graduates have achieved impressive results in school, on standardized tests, in college and beyond. Families of our many students across the country trust their children's mathematical education to RSM. Our program has been featured several times in the Boston Globe and appeared in the New York Times - because we are changing the approach and results of math education for America's children.
Specialties
RSM-Fremont is a branch of the Russian School of Mathematics, the award-winning after-school math program for K-12 children that is based on the best practices of math schools in the former Soviet Union and Europe and adapted to the U.S. education environment. Our mission is to help our students develop mathematical excellence and lifelong critical thinking skills using our unique curriculum and exceptional teachers. RSM-Fremont opened in Fall 2015 in response to the demand for after-school math enrichment in Fremont and serves the neighboring communities: Newark, Union City, Milpitas, Hayward, Pleasanton, San Jose, Alameda, San Leandro, San Ramon, Castro Valley, Fairview and El Diablo Hills. RSM is fully accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), ensuring that each aspect of our program has been carefully evaluated against state standards. Local schools accept and acknowledge our transcripts.
