History

First, you notice her poise and modesty, then the striking symmetry of her face, and the beauty that's centered in her eyes. These eyes see more than others do, and that's where her talent lies. It has enabled her to achieve excellence in design as well as fine art. She has also earned acclaim as an illustrator. Her range of talent, achievement and recognition is unusual. Her talent opened the doors of New York City's High School of Art and Music, the Art School branch of Cooper Union, and the Art Students League. When she became the art director of a New York City advertising agency, she may have accomplished a major first in the profession: she was only 19 years old. Now she has opened the door to another world, a new kind of portraiture. She concentrates on portraits that can be held in the hand. They are ingeniously designed to require no hanging. Working from photographs she usually takes herself, she creates sensitive studies of individuals that illuminate their individuality.
