Riverside Live Steamers

Riverside Live Steamers is a non-profit organization in Riverside, CA, dedicated to preserving the experience of steam locomotives for future generations. Founded in the 1950s by Joe Hunter, the organization operates a 7.5 inch gauge railroad on a 40-acre property, offering train rides to approximately 18,000-20,000 passengers each year.

With the support of the City of Riverside, Riverside Live Steamers has expanded the original railroad to over 10,000 feet of track, built buildings and a station, and added privately owned locomotives and cars to their collection. Maintained by dedicated volunteers, the organization provides an opportunity for visitors to witness the sights, sounds, and smells of steam locomotion, carrying on the vision of its founder, Joe Hunter.
