River Community

River Community, located in Asuza, Calif., is one of the centers operated by the Social Model Recovery Systems. It is a human services organization providing mental health and alcohol and other drug treatment services to residents in southern California. River Community also operates a community-based alcohol and drug prevention program in downtown Los Angeles, and provides education, training and consulting services to organizations throughout California. The organization designs consultations and trainings to assist providers of alcohol and other drug program services in developing, implementing and improving their services. It offers local, regional and statewide trainings as well as on-site consulting. River Community provides consulting services through resource material, and individual and telephone consultation. The organization s consultation service is oriented toward evaluation, troubleshooting and education. It offers training in various areas, including workplace addiction behavior, adolescent recovery systems, domestic and workplace violence, relapse prevention and treatment for addicts with mental disorders.
