I was by accident. I wanted a website and one that I could use to get new customers. This was in the year 2005. It seemed simple enough except that as I was growing I kept having to spend on new leads. Every lead was costing on average $80.00. The way I was told back then was hey, look at how many leads I got you. There were 10-15 leads a month but what I didn't know was they were using Google Adwords and were not using it properly so as they were spreading my campaigns out throughout the month. I kept getting high clicks on the ad which were not turning into customers. They generated a report with the details so I questioed, how did I get all those clicks and no leads or customers. Trust me it was a complicated answer I could not even remember what the consultant said. Heck, I don't think he would know how to repeat it. Anyways, the story ended with them not wanting to help me grow my business but take from me as I was growing new customers with their lead. It ended badly
