History

Richard Dawson has been teaching privately for over 25 years. In an effort to extend his extremely successful teaching process to a wider audience, he started Richard Dawson Music. He is currently training other instructors and writing instructional books in both classical and rock guitar.

Professional guitar lessons by university trained instructor. Richard Dawson holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Multi-Focus Guitar Performance from the world famous California Institute of the Arts. He is a professional performer, composer, and music instructor. Richard has been teaching for over 25 years and many of his students have gone on to prestigious conservatories and universities. Mr. Dawson headed the guitar department for InnerSpark for five years where he created and implemented new and innovative ways of teaching guitar concepts which he still uses today. There is a very logical and effective way of playing the guitar called technique which addresses all of the physical aspects involved. Most guitar teachers are not aware of this and therefore do not teach it. Mr Dawson is a master technician and excels at conveying this information to students of all ages in an easy, fun, and effective manner. Anyone who plays guitar can claim to be a teacher, but very few are actually qualified to do so. Don't be afraid to ask questions about your potential teacher's background.
