Revelle Plaza
Revelle Plaza, located in the southwest area of the UC San Diego campus, serves as a central gathering space for students, alumni, staff, and faculty of Revelle College, the first of six undergraduate colleges at the university. Historically significant, the plaza was a focal point for protests in the late sixties and features the Revelle Fountain, donated by Pacific Southwest Airlines in 1965.
In addition to its role as a communal hub, Revelle Plaza is home to the La Jolla Project, an art installation by Richard Fleischner that transforms the landscape into a space rich with historical and spatial relationships. This unique configuration of granite blocks invites visitors to engage with the environment and reflects the interplay of natural and architectural elements.
