Whittier Elementary School
Whittier Elementary School is a learning center that offers a range of programs, including special education, bilingual and accelerated reader. The school enrolls more than 600 students in kindergarten through third grade. Its staff includes custodians, psychologists, technology assistants, paraprofessionals and speech specialists. The school conducts after-school tutorial classes. It provides a variety of extracurricular activities, including music, nature and curriculum clubs. The school operates a parent-teacher association and offers food services. Located in Costa Mesa, Calif., Whittier Elementary School is a part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. Established in 1966, the school serves more than 22,000 students through various elementary, intermediate and high schools and an alternative education center.
