Since 1984 Youth & Family Programs has been providing a supportive, safe, and stable environment for foster families and foster children. We work with children age infant to 21 years old who have been detained by Butte and Shasta County. We also offer Transitional Housing and the Independent Living Program for our youth in extended foster care. Anyone who is safe, stable, adult, married, or single with room in their hearts and home for children in need can become a foster parent. You must be willing to be responsible for the care of a foster child, be willing to become a part of our team, and be able to meet the Community Care Licensing requirements.

Since 1981, Environmental Alternatives has been providing foster care services to the people of the United States. Based in Redding, Calif., it operates several six-bed group homes and a 30 bed group home and offers transitional rental housing for young children. The organization provides an array of programs, such as Group Home Program for children who cannot function well in a foster home. It offers apprenticeship and THP (The Transitional Housing Placement Program) and Transitional Housing Program plus (THP) for teenagers.
