Rebecca Rigdon Dressage

History

I started my business at my mother Arlene Rigdon's farm, Freedom Hill. I started numerous young Holsteiner horses for her that were produced in our breeding program-one of which became my first Grand Prix mount. I trained several of them through Third level and Prix St. George before they returned to their owners or were sold. I started teaching juniors and beginners in 92' and as my business grew through my years in college and following my undergradate education I coached numerous riders through PSG and a few through Grand Prix. In the meantime I delevoped my own breeding program of Holsteiners that produced 80% premium foals/mares. I then moved to Germany accepting a job working for the Holsteiner Verband as an Auction rider and trainer of their sales horses and stallions. My biggest influneces and educators have been my mother, Arlene, Conrad Schumacher, Christine Traurig, and Steffen and Shannon Peters. I have been very fortunate to have been well mounted and educated.

Specialties

My training philosophy helps the horse develop to its full potential by addressing its individual conformational and mental weaknesses while building on its strengths all while following an individualized variation of the Classical Training System. With regards to my riders, I work to help them achieve their goals, whatever they may be, and make them thoughtful, independent, and fit, harmonious partners for their horses.
