History

Quyen Nguyen Studio was founded in San Diego in 2009 due to an increasing demand for music education taught with a holistic emphasis. Just prior to establishing QN Studio, Quyen Nguyen graduated from a spiritual leadership training program called the 'Art of God' which encourages participants to release trauma and limitations in order to take responsibility for who they are as completely unique, original, and unlimited beings. Having seen how this method had literally changed her life and the lives of those around her, she immediately saw how it could be applied to music education and beyond. So, she resigned from her position as Associate Dean at the San Diego Institute of Music and went into private practice. Four years later, she has not only helped students to learn music in a more healthy and supportive environment, but she has also assisted stroke victims, cancer patients, OCD patients, and others in releasing their traumas in order to realize their true potentials.

QN Studio is a unique private music studio located in the heart of Sorrento Valley which specializes in music education taught with a holistic emphasis. Quyen Nguyen's fresh take on music education stems from combining her twenty years of experience in the music industry with her love of holistic philosophy and psychology. Drawing upon fourteen years of experience as an educator, Quyen Nguyen's aim is to produce not only exceptional musicians, but more importantly, exceptional human beings. Her studio focuses on the development of necessary life skills such as efficient time management, project planning, constructive self-criticism, good decision making, and healthy self-analysis. Originally offering private lessons in violin, viola, cello, and piano, her practice has evolved to also include music appreciation, composing and arranging, Alexander Technique, teacher training, music therapy, and other holistic practices to help students open up to deeper expressions of who they are.
