Quesada Gardens, located in San Francisco's Bayview Hunter's Point, is a community initiative that transformed a neglected median strip into a vibrant vegetable and flower garden. Started in 2002 by Annette Smith and Karl Paige, the garden serves as a gathering place for neighbors to come together, work collaboratively, and celebrate their community.
Despite the challenges of rusting appliances and years of neglect, Quesada Gardens has become a testament to the transformative power of love, generosity, and hard work. Although Karl passed away in 2007 and Annette moved away in 2009, their vision and dedication continue to inspire the caretakers of this showcase garden, which has become a symbol of unity and resilience in the neighborhood.

I love the gardens. It's a great place that brings color and nature to the Bayview. Without this space there would be just concrete and garbage. Thanks for being there QG!
