PS 1 Pluralistic School is an independent, nonprofit educational institution that conducts classes in life science, math, social studies and language arts. The school conducts family dinners, as well as provides instruction in physical education, human development and technology studies. It serves more than 190 students in kindergarten through grade five and offers several before- and after-school programs. PS 1 Pluralistic School provides various extracurricular opportunities, such as drama, music and fine arts. The school has a library, as well as maintains a work force of over 15 teachers. It conducts picnics, curriculum nights, book fairs, open houses, camping trips and auctions. In addition, PS 1 Pluralistic School operates a parents guild and offers sports activities, including golf, soccer and basketball.
