A Company Rooted in Family Values and the Local Community Over 35 years, ago a family set out on a journey to create a better life for future generations. Five members of that family became the foundation of a business that has survived through thick and thin. Johnson Pool & Spa has grown to encompass many aspects of its industry, with over 85 employees, 1,400 service customers, 25 service routes, over 600 custom pools designed & built, a comprehensive retail location in Windsor, California, and a service headquarters in Santa Rosa, California. Johnson Pool & Spa began as a home-based pool construction and renovation company in Healdsburg, California. The company was co-founded by Lupe and Barbara Perezchica, their daughter Tina, and her husband, Stan Johnson. Lupe and Barbara's son, Matt Perezchica, was the first employee of the business. Lupe had 16 years of pool construction experience at the time, and a great understanding of what it took to build a quality, long-lasting pool. Stan would sell them, Lupe and Matt would build them, and Barbara and Tina handled the books. In 1993, the Service and Repair Department was born. Over the next several years, the department grew from a handful of pool maintenance accounts, to currently over 1,400 clients and 25 service routes throughout Sonoma County. It was a natural progression from building pools to providing service for the pools they were constructing, as one more way they could better serve their clients. When asked about their client base, Matt put it best: “Our job is to make their lives more enjoyable and for over 35 years, that is what we are most proud of.” During the time the Service & Repair Department was being established, they outgrew their home base, relocated the business to Windsor, CA, where they opened their first retail store, an 800 sq. ft. space in the Raley’s Shopping Center. That location served them well until 2005, when they moved into their current showroom at 9650 Old Redwood Highway in Windsor, CA. In 2016, they purchased Sunshine Pools in Santa Rosa, CA, which became a second showroom location. With an eye on the future, the company recently pivoted the Santa Rosa location, consolidating all showroom aspects to the Windsor location, and converting the Santa Rosa location to the company’s Service headquarters. This move allows for needed expansion of the Service Department, complete with increased warehouse and office capacities, and focused on continuing to provide top-notch customer service while allowing for future growth. As the area’s award-winning authorized Jacuzzi® Brand Dealer, the Windsor store location showcases a range of Jacuzzi® Wellness products, including hot tubs, swim spas, cold plunges, saunas, and massage chairs, as well as a curated selection of pool chemicals and supplies, Covana automated spa covers, patio furniture collections by Sunset West, and much more. It also serves as the design center for their pool construction & renovation division, as well as the company’s administrative offices. Through the years, the family and business have stuck together, with Lupe & Barbara’s grandsons, Aaron & Alex Johnson, taking over the company in 2024.
