You could call this park “Recreation Central” because of the tremendous range of activities on offer, from disc golf and mountain bike trails, to soccer and baseball fields, two 18-hole golf courses, an Olympic shooting range and archery field, a dog training center and radio-controlled model plane airport -- something for everyone.Prado is also renowned for its bird-watching opportunities, and is a seasonal home for the endangered Least Bell’s Vireo. The park plays host to an annual Civil War reenactment and the Lake Matthews Dog Show.Prado Park is part of the Prado Basin, with rolling hills and grasslands dotted with stands of black willow trees. Chino and Mill creeks border the park’s western and eastern boundaries creating a riparian, or river bank, habitat before the creeks merge with the Santa Ana River.What’s more, the park is conveniently located with nearby freeway access and the convergence of four counties: San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles.
