Hank Foster is the founder and owner of Portofino Fine Doors and Windows. He started the company in 1989 in Santa Barbara, Ca. Hank had ideas and designs as well as finishing techniques. But there was no source for anything like this. We didn't want to compromise by offering only what window companies were building, so it became necessary to go out on his own and develop our niche. Portofino began by partnering with select custom window and door manufacturers around the country that had the know how and willingness to build to our specifications. Then we established our own in house finish studios where the windows and doors are transformed into furniture quality works of art. Through the years we have evolved into the premier source for exotic, one of a kind door and window packages that offer function, style, and low maintenance durability. Our prices are good and there is never a charge for design ideas and consulting.
