Portal World Travel opened in 1947 as a full service travel agency and continues that legacy today. JoAnn Giovannoni bought Portal World Travel in 1979. She was living in Woodland, California but wanted to return to the City. How appropriate she found her agency within walking distance of San Francisco State University, her alma mater! JoAnn has been teaching the Principle classes in the Travel and Tourism Program at City College of San Francisco for over 30 years. She is the Program Coordinator and along with Scott Mandeville has kept the travel program one of the few programs left in the Bay Area training travel professionals. Students come from all over the world to earn certificates and degrees in Travel & Tourism. JoAnn and Scott have either visited, escorted or sent people to every corner of the world. The staff at Portal World Travel are among the best trained and traveled agents in the business. If they can't put the trip together for you, it cannot be done!
