History

We invite you to visit Pollinate Farm & Garden, your online destination for DIY Food. Many of us seek a connection to fresh, local food sources and have pursued growing our own fruits & vegetables, keeping bees, or raising chickens and other small livestock. For some of us, the draw of DIY Food is reconnecting to our past and rediscovering knowledge and skills from our grandparents' generation. For others it is a way to ensure good food close to home. We all share a desire to eat food that is flavorful, nutritious and sustainable. In 2013, we opened our doors as an edible nursery & urban farm emporium in the Fruitvale District of Oakland, CA. In 2020, we closed our doors and are now online! We are urban farmers with decades of experience producing food and teaching others the skills necessary to grow food in our area. Whatever your ambitions, we want to help provide the resources you need to achieve them. We offer coaching services to help you grow, raise, and preserve your harvest.
