California Employers Association

In 1937, a small group of employers in need of human resources and labor relations assistance pooled their financial resources to form California Association of Employers. In 1938 a small group of employers formed the Valley Employers Association in Fresno for the same purpose. In 2007, CAE and VEA joined forces and today are known as California Employers Association ( CEA ) with a for profit subsidiary known as CAE Services Inc All employees are placed within the for profit subsidiary of the association, known as CAE Services, Inc In forming CEA, it was the intent of these businesspersons to create an organization that small- to mid-sized private and public sector businesses could turn to receive professional human resource management and labor relations assistance. CEA became, in effect, the human resources department for its members. CEA and CAE Services, Inc are both governed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of representatives from member businesses. The boards provide policy direction in the carrying out and expansion of human resource and labor relations services to members. A hallmark of CEA is the manner in which it provides human resource and labor relations benefits to members. While many nonprofit membership organizations primarily provide information to their members, CEA goes an important step further. CEA employs a staff of human resource and labor relations professionals to provide hands-on, issue-specific consultation and services to members covering all aspects of employer-employee relations. These experts, who bring more than 125 years of combined experience, are located throughout the state and serve member businesses in designated geographic areas. The benefit to members is that their CEA human resource representative is provided the opportunity to become intimately familiar with the member's business and employer-employee relations issues and culture, resulting in consistent advice to the member. We are the leader in providing the highest quality Human Resource and consulting services.
