Pleasanton Police Department offers crime prevention, community policing and traffic control services. It also provides special services for animals and youths. The department develops home security, personal safety, robbery prevention and identity theft programs to eliminate or reduce crime. Its operations division is staffed with more than 60 police officers, over five community service officers and several police explorers. Pleasanton Police Department s traffic unit is responsible for investigating traffic collisions and issuing traffic citations. Located in Pleasanton, Calif., the department regularly updates offender information and conducts annual registrations with sex offenders that reside in the community. It also operates The Parent Project, which teaches parents skills to work with their strong-willed adolescents.

I've only had one interaction with them. They are no-nonsense but not overzealous like the overpaid donut munchers that ruin Mountain View. I learned not to walk right by 580 at night.
