Pine Ridge Volunteer Fire Department
The Pine Ridge Volunteer Fire Department (PRVFD), established over 25 years ago, serves the Pine Ridge community in Fresno County, California, providing essential fire protection and first response medical services. Recognized by Cal Fire as Company 68, the department operates from elevations ranging from 4,600 to 5,600 feet and is currently staffed by 14 dedicated members, including 13 firefighters and a dispatcher.
After the devastating Creek Fire in 2020, which destroyed many homes and significantly impacted the department's staffing and resources, PRVFD continues to rebuild and adapt. Funded solely through donations, grants, and community events like their annual Tri-tip Barbecue, the department remains committed to protecting the quality of life in the Pine Ridge community through ongoing training and preparedness for both wildland and structural firefighting, as well as medical emergencies.
