Piazza Giannini is a newly unveiled 500-square-foot public piazza located at the corner of India and W. Cedar streets in San Diego's Little Italy. Built in honor of Amadeo Giannini, the founder of Bank of America, the piazza features a bust and monument telling Giannini's story, as well as concrete planters with notable quotes by Giannini, bollards, and tables and chairs with umbrellas, creating a welcoming public space for residents and visitors to gather.
Supported by major donors such as Bank of America, the Lara Douglas Hamm Family, and Creative House x Black Swan Hospitality, Piazza Giannini serves as a tribute to Giannini's legacy as a distinguished Italian-American and Californian, and his contributions to branch banking and social equity in the United States.
